Chris’s Bio:
Chris is the founding director of Central Performance and a highly respected physio with over 33 years experience working in private practice in Australia and the UK. He has both an undergraduate & master’s degree from Sydney University, & is an APA Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. He has completed extensive post-graduate education in areas including physio for sports injury management, running injury treatment, back and neck pain, headaches, knee and shoulder pain. He has a special interest in running injuries and using strength training for injury rehab. As well as working in private practice he also has experience in providing physio coverage for representative rugby teams in the UK.
Since founding Central Performance in Surry Hills Chris has focused developing a culture of excellence in his clinical team which includes physios, exercise physiologists, running coaches, strength trainers, Pilates instructors and massage therapists. The challenge and fulfilment of building a team that consistently takes each client’s aspirations and goals & turns them into reality, whether to win at the elite sporting level or just to feel great & lead an active and healthy lifestyle, is what drives Chris both personally and professionally.
Interests:
Chris loves working with runners, right from recreational to elite levels. Helping them run to the best of their ability, whether that’s competing at the nationals, doing their first marathon, or just running regularly to stay fit and healthy, is such a positive part of his work. As a running physio Chris regularly completes professional education covering all aspects of running, from injury management through to maximising performance, to ensure that his clients always receive the fastest, most complete and evidence-based physio management available.
Chris also has a special interest in treating headaches and neck pain, and has completed several post-graduate courses in this area. Headaches can be very debilitating for clients and challenging to manage, so being able to provide an effective, long-lasting and drug-free treatment option is very rewarding.
Something Fun:
Together with my lovely wife Jude, my weekends are usually spent having fun & playing sport with my beautiful kids Dan, Fin & Sophie. I love stand-up paddling, surfing, snorkelling and running. I have also always loved travelling and can’t wait to see as much of the world as I can!
